Sign in and account security

Email codes, passkeys, authenticator-app 2FA, recovery codes, re-verification and signed-in sessions.

Status doesn't use passwords. Everything below is under Settings → Security.

Email codes

Enter your email and Status sends a one-time code. Enter it to sign in.

Passkeys

Add a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or a security key) and sign in with it, with no code. You can list and remove your passkeys at any time.

Authenticator app (2FA)

Turn on an authenticator app (TOTP) as a second factor for email-code sign-in.

Recovery codes

Turning on 2FA gives you recovery codes for when you lose the app. Each code works once, and you can generate new ones.

Re-verify before security changes

Before you change 2FA, passkeys or recovery codes, Status asks you to verify again. Once you have, you can make further security changes for 10 minutes.

Sessions

See the devices you're signed in on, sign one out, or sign out everywhere else.
