Support access and the activity log

Status support sees nothing of your monitoring data unless you turn access on; you can turn it off at any time, and everything support does is logged.

What support can see

Support sees nothing of your monitoring data unless you turn access on: not your checks, results, incidents, alert channels, status pages, team members or activity log.

While access is on, support can view that data, make changes to it, and sign in as your account's Owner to reproduce problems, until you turn it off.

Whether access is on or off, support keeps the records the company needs to run your subscription: your account name, status and timezone, the owner's name and email address, your plan, billing details (billing address, tax ID, card brand and last four digits) and invoices, a log of the account and billing emails we send (such as sign-in codes and receipts) and the address each went to, and simple counts such as how many checks you have. That never includes the contents of your monitoring.

Turning support access on

Only you can turn it on: the Owner or an Admin, under Settings → Support access. Support can't turn it on for you. It has no expiry: it stays on until you turn it off. The page shows what access allows and asks you to confirm.

Turning support access off

Turn it off from the same page, at any time. Doing so immediately ends any support session in progress, and support can no longer see your monitoring data, make changes or sign in as you.

Turning access off does not delete anything support added while it was on. An alert channel or webhook that support created at your request is now part of your account's configuration, so it stays, labelled "Added by Status support" in your alert channels and shown in your activity feed. The page tells you how many there are when you turn access off; review them and delete any you don't want.

The activity log

Every grant, revoke, change and support sign-in, and what support viewed, is recorded in your activity feed as "Status support" (the same view repeated within 30 seconds is recorded once), alongside who changed what on the account. Everyone on the account can see it.
